Confirmed – £27m Attacker Will Play For Chelsea Next Season
With Serie A giants, Juventus believed to be showing interest in luring Chelsea winger, Juan Cuadrado away from the Stamford Bridge this summer, most fans of the Blues believe the club should not hesitate in accepting an offer to sell the Colombian international.
According to the Express, Cuadrado, who joined Chelsea last January after sealing a £27 million deal, is attracting interest from Juventus. This in my opinion is like a get-out-of-jail card for the Blues as it would enable the club to recoup some of the hefty transfer fee that was paid on him last January.
Though, the player’s agent, Alessandro Lucci has denied that the player wants to leave the Bridge, it seems a lot of fans would want the Blues to place him on transfer after failing to impress since joining the club in January.
Alessandro Lucci told Tuttomercatoweb: “I read with amazement in some English and Italian newspaper about imaginary figures and agents associated with Cuadrado, so I think it’s right to clarify the situation.
“Cuadrado is a Chelsea player, strongly backed by Mourinho who believes in him. Juan is fine in London and is very likely to remain at Chelsea. He has interest from other teams but I repeat, Juan is a Chelsea player.”
His case is not even helped by the fact that the club is being linked with a move for Atletico Madrid winger, Arda Turan, who could also play in the same position as the Colombian.
Despite Lucci’s claims that the player is happy to remain at the Bridge, a move away from Chelsea would help Cuadrado rebuild his career, which has understandably nosedived as a result of not being able to tie down regular first team football at Chelsea.
