CONFIRMED – Arsenal To SIGN Two MARQUEE Players Before Window Closes

Arsenal are on the lookout for top quality players ahead of next season. According to the Metro, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he plans to bring in one or two more top quality players to the club this summer. The paper quotes the manager as saying he needs two marquee signings before the window slams shut next month.

This window, the manager has already signed Petr Cech from Chelsea, and with a couple of more players, the Gunners will be in a stronger position to contest for the league title next season.

It is quite obvious that the club could do with one or two more quality players, especially in the midfield and in the attack, where Olivier Giroud is the Gunners’ only natural striker.

The club lost out to Man United in the race to sign Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin. We may have to watch as the manager is someone that is capable of springing surprises on us just as he did on the last day of the 2013 transfer window where he signed Mesut Ozil.

Last season, the club was rescued from its defensive midfield woes when it recalled Francis Coquelin from Charlton. The player’s contribution to the midfield enabled the Gunners to end the season on a high.

The attack is where the club needs to be more intense in its search for a player this window. The club is reportedly monitoring the situation of Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, but may have to wait until the later part of the window to get their man; which of course, is still a probability.
