Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge can’t seem to shake off his injury problems. He has managed only 17 league appearances for the past two seasons, and there have been reports that the striker could be sold in the summer transfer window.
Those reports have been given further credence by Reds legend Phil Thompson’s latest claims about the 26-year old.
He believes that sooner than later club owners might decide to sell the striker.
‘There’s only so far you can go with Sturridge,’ Thompson told the Mirror.
‘You can’t build a team around him. You can’t even build a forward line around him. It’s hard to envisage going forward with a player like that.
‘I think they [the owners] will be looking at him, how many minutes he played, how old he is, wondering how much they can get for him.’
