CONFIRMED – Everton Shops For Stones Replacement, CB To Join Chelsea In Days

The Toffees are determined not to only be a selling a club, as reports are claiming that Roberto Martinez has confirmed that the Toffees are in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over a move for their Brazil born winger, Bernard.

Bernard has been on the radar of Arsene Wenger when he was almost brought to the Emirates last summer.

Earlier in this summer, the Goodison Park outfit lined up Bernard as a back up to their long-term target Andriy Yarmolenko of Dynamo Kiev – Everton saw their bid rejected for the for the Ukrainian winger who has also been targeted by Barcelona.

Although, he remained diplomatic about a possible deal for Bernard, when asked, the Toffees manager said:

“I’m sure that [Bernard] has got a few representatives in the UK. I can’t go into detail.”

Meanwhile, earlier this today, it was reported that Chelsea’s prime defensive target, John Stones has asked told Martinez of his desire to leave Goodison Park. Stones is keen on handing the Toffees a transfer request if they refuse to accept the Blues final offer of £33 million for his services.

Stones will feature for Chelsea in the lucrative UEFA champions’ league if the he is allowed to leave the Merseyside club.
