CONFIRMED – Manchester United Set To Complete Transfer Of £120,000-A-Week Star
As per the Mirror, Manchester United’s Spanish goalkeeper who has been heavily linked with a return to Spain is set to seal a transfer to Real Madrid after comments from his girlfriend Edurne Garcia.
After the departure of Real Madrid legendary goalkeeper, Iker Casillas to Portuguese giants Porto this summer, they have set about looking for a capable replacement and United’s De Gea a prime target.
The 24-year old joined Manchester United in 2011 as a replacement for Edwin van der Sar. He endured a difficult first season as he adjusted to English football but De Gea has grown in leaps and bounds and consistent fantastic performances didn’t go unnoticed as he cemented his place in the first team.
He has gone on to feature in 130 league games for the club but his emergence as a trully world class keeper came to the fore last season as he repeatedly bailed his team mates with wonder save after save. He featured 37 times in the league last season keeping 11 clean sheets. His superlative perfomances earned him a place in the EPL’s team of the season, goalkeeper of the year and club player of the year. With a phenomenal season under his belt, Real Madrid came calling but Manchester United have insisted that they would want to retain the services of their star player.
With his girlfriend allegedly saying “now, when he is in Madrid everything would be much easier”. It appears that the player is set for an exit which would not be pleasant news to United fans.
David De Gea currently has one year left on his contract and the club risk losing him on a free next summer if they don’t tie him down to a new contract.
