Liverpool midfielder Suso is on the verge of completing a deal to join Italian giant AC Milan. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder’s contract at Anfield is set to expire this summer hence, the player is eligible to negotiate a pre-contract deal with any other club. The player’s agent Jaime Serra already confirmed his client has agreed a four year deal with with Filippo Inzaghi’s side.
“Yes, I can confirm that there is an agreement between Milan and Suso on a four-year contract.” Serra said.
The player also confirm upon his arrival at Milan that he will be joining the Rossoneri when his Liverpool contract ends and is due for his medical with the Milan side.
“I’m happy to come to Milan. I have yet to speak to Inzaghi, I came here to take the medical and I hope all goes well,” Suso said upon his arrival in Italy. Suso said.
He will sign a pre-contract agreement which will see him join the Rossoneri on the free in the summer. There is also a possibility he could join Milan this transfer window in a cut-price deal according to his agent.
“There’s a possibility (he will arrive in January). We’ll just have to see what happens between now and the end of the transfer window”. Serra added
Suso joined Liverpool in 2012 and made 14 league appearances in his first season for the Brendan Rodgers side. He was loaned to Spainish side UD Almeria in the 2013/14 season to gain experience.
He made 33 league appearances for the Rojiblancos scoring three goals with seven assists. He returned to Liverpool this season but injuries and the availability of players like Raheem Sterling, Courtinho, Adam Lallana in his playing position means he has only managed just one substitute appearance- (in the Capital One Cup third round tier against Middleborough) for the Kopps.
Liverpool have not shown any interest in keeping the player beyond his current contract and he could move at the end of the season.
He will sign a four year deal with Milan once the medical is successful and will join up with his new team at the end of his contract at Anfield. Milan could also fast track his move so he can join them this January and could offer Liverpool a cut-price fee in order to take the player this January.
Filippo Inzaghi is looking at building a new team at his boy hood club. They have already let off Fernando Torres while bringing in Alessio Cerci from Atletico Madrid. Suso could be the man he is looking up to bring the fire back in the attack.
Suso has not found life easy at the Premier and a move away from the league may well be the best option for his young career.
The Spainish youth international is a technically gifted attacking player. The pace of the Italian league will suit his playing style. He has represented Spain in all at the youth level starting from the U-17 through to the U-21 but he’s yet to called to the La Furia Roja senior side.
