Confirmed: Playmaker agrees on a Man Utd move: “I have a good feeling“

Feyenoord youngster Tahith Chong has confirmed that he is moving to Manchester United. The 16-year-old stated he has had a ‘better feeling’ after meeting with the club’s representatives. Chong has been playing impressively for the Eredivise giants Under-17 side for the past two seasons, as a playmaker controlling the pace and tempo of the game for them.

His ability to get past his man from deep and scoring ability is highly rated by Manchester United, who once scored 11 goals for his country. As such, the Red Devils wasted no time to get the deal done, after monitoring him for the last couple of months.

The left-footed wide-man, has so far shown that he has good technical ability, together with a sleek combination of pace and power. This could prove useful in the fast-paced Premier League. However, he revealed to Elf Voetbal that he wanted to stay at Feyenoord, but there was no plans made for him.

“When I said I wanted to leave, they made a plan. That was too late. He added, “At Manchester United I had a better feeling. You can feel it immediately when you walk in a club.”
With his Dutch compatriot Louis Van Gaal managing the Manchester club now, whose insistence on giving multiple youngsters chances to prove themselves on the big stage, it was an easy decision for him. Van Gaal has used the likes of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Marcus Rashford, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah – another Dutchman – prominently in the senior side this season.
