Confirmed – World Cup Q/Finalist Already Signed For Manchester United
After Keylor Navas’ transfer move to the Old Trafford fell through on deadline transfer day, it has been discovered that the deliberate decision of his agent to slow down transfer talks also played part in the deal not eventually working out. Navas and De Gea were set to swap clubs during the summer after the Spaniard had refused to sign a contract that would make him continue at United.
De Gea’s earlier contract would have made him a free agent at the end of the season, making him available for free for Real Madrid, but the 24 year-old was set to move during summer until it was revealed that his paperwork was sent late.
The Costa Rica international had already prepared to move the other way, but with his agent putting so many clauses in the contracts, the deal was slowed down, and he has since stayed put at the Bernabeu. He is currently the best goalie across Europe’s elite leagues this season, keeping 5 clean sheets in all of Madrid’s 6 League games. The shotstopper who arrived the Bernabeu last Summer has been on great form in-between the sticks ever since. Currently in the La Liga, he has averaged 2.17 saves-per-game and 13 saves-per-goal.
De Gea at the other end has also been in impressive form after putting pen to paper in a new 4-year deal. He was earlier sidelined at the beginning of the season due to the transfer saga, but he has now returned back to the goalpost, helping the Red Devils to consecutive wins since assuming duty.
