Antonio Conte

Conte eager to bring Man City £90,000-per-week striker to Stamford Bridge

The clock is ticking away and soon, Antione Conte will take over at the Stamford Bridge. Chelsea fans have very high hopes of success and the Italian is keen to bring the players who will transform Chelsea into the team that Roman Abramovich and the fans are looking for. Stevan Jovetic is one of such players.

According to the Daily Star, Stevan Jovetic is on Antoine Conte’s radar. The Montenegro international joined Manchester City FC from Fiorentina in 2013. He won the BPL with City and Capital one cup.

He is currently on loan to Inter Milan, where he has scored six goals in 22 appearances for the club this season. Antoine Conte wanted to sign the 26-year old while at Fiorentina, and as he moves to Chelsea, his long-term admiration for the player is likely to bear fruits.

The Daily Star reports say that Inter Milan have an obligation to buy the striker for £12m, plus £2m loan fee. However, the Serie A outfit have expressed disinterest in keeping the striker beyond the summer, and that is why a move to the Stamford Bridge is likely.

The Montenegro captain did not impress at the Etihad stadium, and now at the San Siro stadium. However, Antoine Conte still believes in the player. With Radamel Falcao, Loic Remy and Alexandre Pato on their way out, new players must come in to take their places.

The Blues are ready to play the player his current wages of £90,000-per-week and give him a second chance to make his mark in English football.
