Conte to bring new director with him to Chelsea as they plan to raid Serie A

Antonio Conte

Last week reports emerged that the incoming-Chelsea new boss Antonio Conte was pushing for a move that will bring Roma’s director of football, Walter Sabatini, to the Stamford Bridge. According to the reports, Conte has made it clear that he wants the transfer market specialist to join him at Stamford Bridge as he looks ahead to his first season in charge in England next year.

Sabatini’s arrival would ultimately result in the departure of current technical director Michael Emenalo, but that is of little concern to the Italy boss, according to our source.

It had earlier been reported that Conte was interested in bringing in his backroom staff and several players in Serie A as he looks to rebuild the club and perhaps stamp his on the club too.

His plans appears to involved changes in the hierarchy and the squad, and Chelsea’s interim has moved to advice the Blues as Conte awaits to arrive in west London after the Euro 2016.

The Dutchman says the current squad are playing for their Chelsea careers and was keen to remind those losing focus that no-one is guaranteed a place under incoming manager Antonio Conte.

Of course,” said the Dutchman. “Conte and his assistants, they will make their analysis and deal with the current management. They analyze and see the games as well.”

Sabatini had earlier revealed that he will be leaving his post with the Giallorossi at the end of the season, but although the Serie A club are hopeful of changing his mind, an offer from Chelsea could be the breaking point in negotiations. Meanwhile, a move to the Premier League outfit would likely result in the departure of current technical director Michael Emenalo.

Sabatini has been credited with securing the transfers of some of the most promising young players in world football in previous roles including at Palermo.
