Conte’s replacement for John Terry speaks on rumoured Chelsea transfer

Chelsea FC manager-in-waiting Antonio Conte would like to bring in Juventus centre-half Leonardo Bonucci as a long-term replacement for John Terry in center of the Blues defence, when the time comes for the club’s captain of the last 12 years to bid farewell.

It is not been concluded whether the Chelsea captain would be leaving as the club want their new boss to have the final say on whether he wants to keep the Long-serving defender.

Bonucci, 28, would not be a simple deal for Chelsea to pull off with the player having recently signed a new five-year deal at Juventus last summer but, as with all their managers, Chelsea want to back their man in the transfer market but do not anticipate major changes in the summer despite the dismal time they have had this season.

They feel strongly that the best has not yet been seen of the current squad and the performance of Juan Cuadrado for Juventus against Bayern Munich in quarter finals of the Champions League suggests strongly that the on-loan Colombian will be back at Cobham for pre-season training.

Chelsea are said to also be looking to sign Borussia Dortmund’s goal scoring midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the blues are hoping to tempt the 28-year old Armenia international to Stamford bridge despite their impending absence from next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Mkhitaryan has scored 18 goals in all competitions for the German club as they currently sit in second place 7-points behind Bundesliga’s Bavarian giants Bayern Munich.
