Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is reportedly unsure whether or not to start Daniel Sturridge for their next clash against Aston Villa. The England forward has struggled with injuries since last campaign and has just played for Liverpool against West Ham since December.
Klopp did manage to include Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke together for an hour of football for the first time in his Liverpool reign.
Through the club’s website, Klopp revealed that he was happy with Sturridge’s performance, but is still unsure whether he is ready to guarantee him a start spot for the upcoming premier League fixture against Aston Villa.
“Tomorrow is recovery. It was great – Coutinho was back, Origi was back too – but we need consistency in the line-up. We need things that we want to change, not that we have to change. You saw the game so write what you saw, not what I say.”
“We have to talk first, with Daniel and the medical staff before we make decisions about this [his next step].”
Despite being knocked out of the FA Cup, Liverpool fans were very delighted to see Sturridge make a return to fitness and flocked Twitter to praise him.
