Deal Done – Brazilian Striker Just Signed a 3-Year Contract, Will Earn 35,000-a-week, Chelsea Paid £8m
Yesterday, various reports claimed that Chelsea have agreed on a deal to sign striker Alexandre Pato from Corinthians and an announcement over a three-year deal is imminent.
However, conflicting reports have emerged overnight, and Blues’ deal for the striker have hit a roadblock. Portuguese source A Bola have claimed that the Portuguese club Sporting Club have made a last-hour approach for the Brazilian striker, and the straight forward move doesn’t look so straight forward anymore.
The report also claims that the Portuguese club want to sign the striker on a loan deal, and the player himself prefers a move to the Premier League. Daily Star also reported that the Blues have not agreed on personal terms with the 26-year old contrary to the reports.
Chelsea and Corinthians are still in lengthy discussions over a deal with the Brazilian club holding out for a transfer fee of £12m. It looks like Chelsea fans jumped the gun by celebrating the arrival of the former AC Milan striker at Stamford Bridge.
However, if we can believe today’s news, Chelsea signed the Brazilian striker today for £8m and reached personal terms with the star as Alexandre Pato will earn 35,000-a-week after taxes.
