Deal done: Liverpool midfielder target signs two-year contract

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool are looking to beat Premier league sides Arsenal and Tottenham to promising teenager, Andre Dozzell. Liverpool have scouted the English midfielder and will be hoping they can finalize a move.

The young midfielder is not getting ahead of himself as he remains level headed and focused on getting better. He had the following to say “At the start of the season my aim was to break into the first-team because I had been playing regularly for the U21s and the next step is the first-team but it was a bit crazy to score on my debut,” Dozzell told the club website. Dozzell emulated his father Jason Dozzell whom scored on his debut for West Ham, also as a teenager.

The 17-year old appears to be keen to stay with Championship side In order to continue to progress. “Obviously I’m pleased with the progress I’ve made here and hopefully I can push on from here and try and get more first-team football next year. That is the target.”  It seems the player is not focused on a possible transfer and Liverpool will have to pull up their socks in his pursuit.

The English midfielder recently signed a two-year professional contract with the Ipswich Town after bursting onto the scene with solid performances . Ipswich Town will be looking to keep their young man and will be hoping interest from Liverpool does not take away one of their stars.

The midfielder is currently away with England U17s for their European Championship campaign in Azerbaijan. Hopefully he will string together more breath-taking performances. Dozzell plays in an attacking midfield role. However, he can play further back in a more central role. Either way the midfielder is instrumental to his side.
Klopp is keen to add the young talent to his ranks. The German manager is well-known for his ability to develop players and make them reach their full potential. Whether he gets the opportunity to do the same with Dozzell’s will have to be seen.
