Deal done: Man Utd reportedly agree to sign genius midfielder for insane €80m

Manchester United are on the verge of sealing their first transfer. The deal to bring in Renato Sanchez to Old Trafford could cost United a staggering £80 million. It is believed the deal is similar to that of Anthony Martial; the fee is inclusive of large bonuses based on player performance and success.

United would be expected to table a mammoth  £40 million upfront with  a further £40 million should the Portuguese youngster develop as expected.

It still remains a considerably high fee considering the player of discuss in only 18 and has not quite established himself yet. Therefore, United are paying big  just for his potential. He has shown great sparks of talent for Benfica.

However,  is £80 million a great gamble considering that one could purchase a proven world class talent for the same fee. However, the United board are adamant that Sanchez is a rising star and that his worth will be worth while.

The young prodigy remains humble as he states “I know I still have to develop. I’m 18. Over time, and with the help of my colleagues, I will improve.” It remains to be seen whether that development  will continue with Manchester United. Louis Van Gaal is known to give youth a chance.  In contrast, potential boss Jose Mourinho has not had a great record with developing younger players.

Renato Sanchez has all the attribute to be successful in the Premier League.  He holds the physical presence and reads the game well. He knows how to handle pressure on the ball while in possession and his versatility across the central midfield role is an important attribute to many sides.
