Defender wants Arsenal transfer, update on spanish striker signing

Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy is aiming for a transfer in January transfer window. The French defender has lost his place in the Gunners’ starting eleven to Hector Bellerin and is in desperate need of regular playing time ahead of this summer’s Euro Championships in his country. The 30-year-old mentioned to French radio RMC that for the past two games he didn’t even make it to the Les Blues squad and he will soon discuss his future plans with manager Arsene Wenger.

“Everything is clear. I need game time, and that’s why I’ll have to discuss it with the coach soon,” Debuchy said. “We will see what offers there are between now and [January] – if there are any.” When asked about whether he intends to talk to Wenger, he said: “I want to (talk to AW). I really need to play. Didier Deschamps didn’t call me for the last two games, so it’s obvious, I’ve got to play more than I do, that’s why I want to talk to Wenger soon.”

The 30-year-old has made just two league appearances for the North London club this season.

Meanwhile, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has rubbished rumours linking Celta Vigo winger Nolito with a move to Emirates Stadium. Mundo Deportivo, yesterday, published a story claiming that the Gunners are in advanced talks with Spanish forward regarding a January move to the club.

Ballague believes that Nolito’s first choice is to secure a transfer to Barcelona. Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is also reportedly interested in the services of the player he coached at Celta Vigo.

The Spanish journalist claims that Mundo Deportivo fabricated the story in order to pressurize Barcelona into making a move for the Celta Vigo forward.
