Arsenal are set to announce the signing of teenage prodigy Vlad Dragomir from FC Timisoara in Romania. The 16 year old player is a midfielder at his present club and he appears to be a start for the future with Arsenal making him their first singing in their foray into the transfer market this summer. The deal bringing him to Arsenal will cost the club around £70,000.
While fans were expecting the announcement of Petr Cech as the club’s first signing, they will nonetheless be pleased that the club are going on with the tradition of recruiting young blood to be moulded into world class players. Having blooded players like Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song, Samir Nasri, Theo Walcott, etc., fans will be hoping that Vlad would emulate these players and become a legend in the club.
According to Today’s express, there will be an official unveiling on the 29th of June. The player’s agent Catalin Sarmasan who brokered the deal, says “I proposed a move to Arsenal a year and a half ago and they have monitored closely since then”. The agent believes that his client is deserving of a move to Arsenal as “In my opinion Vlad is one of the most talented players in Europe at the moment”.
