Done Deal – Arsenal CB Target Signs For £17.6m, Four Years Deal Signed

AC Milan have announced the 25 milllion euros signing of Arsenal target Alessio Romagnoli from Roma, as reported by the Daily Express.

The Under-21 Italy International Centre-back had been tracked by Premier league clubs Arsenal and Chelsea in recent weeks. However, the Rossoneri have beaten them to the signing of the young Italian and have since showed their delight at the acquisition.

“I welcome Alessio, you’ve signed with us until June 2020 and we’re very happy about it,” club statement read.

“you’re a young man, you’re 20, and because of that we believe you have all the time in the world to become an icon of our club, following the path of the great Rossoneri defenders.

“A big hug from AC Milan, and Forza Alessio.”

Romagnoli had earlier spoken of how much he is relishing the opportunity to kick on at Milan.

“It’s all very exciting for me,” he told the club’s official Website.

“Milan are one of the most important clubs in the world. Now it’s up to me to do well.

“Mr. Mihajlovic told me that if there was a chance, he would take me with him.

“Now I want to help the team and I will try to give my best, my all.”

Romagnoli spent last season on loan at Sampdoria and performed exceptionally well, helping the club to a seventh-placed finish and Europa League football.

The 20-year-old joins Milan on a 25million euros fee, slightly less than the originally reported 30million euros Roma were demanding for the player. He is arguably the brightest young talent in the Italian youth system.

Milan have been crying out for a new Centre-back following sale of Adil Rami to Sevilla, they have now bought one of the most promising defenders in Italian football.

Romagnolli averaged 11 defensive actions per game, he also chipped in with two goals and two assists, he also won 50% of his duels and won 50/82 headers in the Seria A last season for Sampdoria.
