Done Deal – Arsenal Completes Signing Of “Great Talent”,Will Play For First Team

Perhaps, not the signing most Arsenal fans have been waiting for in the last couple of weeks; but it does signify the fact that Frenchman Arsene Wenger is not in a hurry to abandon ‘project youth’ just yet.

According to various sources, including the player’s club in Holland, Ajax; the Gunners have sealed the signing of one of the promising youngsters in the Dutch club.

Donyell Malen, not a name that rings a bell, at least not to many Arsenal fans in England; but he could well find his way into the club’s hall of fame if he goes ahead to become one of the best players of the club in the future.

Confirming the player’s departure to the famous Arsenal youth academy, Ajax head of youth Wim Jonk said:

“Donyell is a great talent. It is extremely unfortunate that he is leaving Ajax.”

Before signing for the Gunners, the player had earlier turned down what was termed as a lucrative offer from the Dutch club. Speaking to Voetbal International about the player’s decision to leave this summer, Jonk said:

“We have made Donyell an excellent offer and presented a clear plan for his development.

“If the player still makes the decision [to leave], that’s disappointing, because his potential is clear and he would be given opportunities with Ajax.

“We will continue with the guys who believe in the plan.”

The player is currently under the tutelage of super agent, Mino Raiola. Although a youngster, he is expected to play a part in Arsenal’s cup campaign next season.
