Done Deal: Arsenal Target Signs For £12m, Signs 50,000-A-Week Four Years Deal

Newcastle football club have announced the signing of Aleksandar Mitrovic from Anderlecht, Arsenal were believed to be interested in signing the youngster, The 20-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract at St James’ Park that will double his current wages.

Mitrovic, 20, born 16 September 1994 , At the age of 18, Mitrović was named among the top 10 talents under the age of 19 in Europe by a selection of UEFA reporters. Born in Smederevo, Mitrović came to Partizan and went through the youth system of the club. Before being promoted to the first team, he made his senior debut with their affiliated side Teleoptik in the 2011–12 season, scoring seven goals in 25 league matches, become a real gem in European football over the past year or so having scored goals for fun as a teenager with Partizan Belgrade before moving to Anderlecht.

With four goals, Mitrović was the top scorer of the Serbian national under-19 team in their successful qualifying campaign for the 2012 UEFA Under-19 Championship. On 3 July 2012, the opening day of the final tournament, he was sent off during a match against France U19, which caused him to miss the rest of the competition due to suspension. On 26 March 2013, Mitrović scored two goals in a friendly for Serbia’s U21 team against Bulgaria U21The young forward finished last season with 28 goals in 51 games in all competitions and even scored three goals in the Champions League. One of those European goals came against Arsenal at the Emirates as the Gunners threw away a 3-0 lead against the Belgians, and Mitrovic scored the injury-time equaliser to settle the points.

With this deal done, Newcastle are also hoping to settle the deal for QPR’s Charlie Adams with Steven Mclaren going on a spending spree to restructure Newcastle. The newspaper claims Anderlecht are happy with a £12m deal and, despite Arsenal showing interest (as per the Star and Metro), Mitrovic is all set to sign with the Magpies who desperately need a striker.
