Done Deal – Chelsea Completes Transfer Of Liverpool Target Ahead Of January Window

Serie A club AS Roma have announced that former Chelsea player, Mohammed Salah has joined them on a permanent basis. The Egyptian winger signed for AS Roma on a loan deal during the summer transfer window but his loan deal included an option to buy him at any point and the Italian club has decided to activate this clause and make him a Roma player permanently. The option said:

The winger will spend the 2015/16 campaign on loan at the Stadio Olimpico and the agreement includes an option to purchase at any point during the season.

The 23-year-old winger who joined Chelsea in 2014 made only 13 appearances for Chelsea and scored 2 goals but joined Florentina in January and made 16 appearances for Florentina, scoring 6 goals. He made his return to the Serie A scene by joining AS Roma and has made 6 appearances for Roma, scoring 3 goals. Therefore, it was only wise for Roma to activate the purchase option and sign him permanently as he seems to know how to shine in the Serie A.

The Serie A is apparently a very flattering league for English Premiership leavers and makes room for them to show their mettle because Edin Dzeko has also activated his clause and signed permanently for Roma and Cuadrado has been impressive at Juventus.

Iago Falque has also signed permanently with AS Roma after activating his own purchase option from La Liga club, Genoa.

There is no mention of Mohammed Salah’s transfer fee yet but as at August when the loan move was announced for 5million Euros, there was a mention of a purchase option for 15 million Euros.

We hope that this move for Salah who still has a lot of years to prove that he is one of the best will not come back to haunt Chelsea.
