Done Deal – Chelsea DM Target Agrees To Sign, Flies In For Medical, Announcement On Monday

News breaking from Sky sports has it that Chelsea defensive midfield target Fabian Delph has agreed to sign for Manchester City instead of Chelsea. According to the reports, City has struck a deal with the player’s club and have agreed personal terms with the player.

Delph, 20, was earlier before the season closed linked with a move to Chelsea as Jose Mourinho continues his search for a reliable defensive midfielder to compete with or act as back up for Matic who is the club’s only reliable defensive midfielder.

Delph was thought to be available for 20 million which could explain why Chelsea are losing out on a chance to sign the player. Although a very good player, Delph is never a 20m rated player especially if you consider the fact that only just three seasons ago, he was playing in the championship.

It is obvious Manchester City are signing the player ahead of Chelsea due to the fact that they have more money and are desperate to fill their home grown quota.

Delph is reportedly going to fly to Manchester this weekend to complete a medical and should it be successful, he will be announced as a Manchester City player on Monday.
