Chelsea has in the last few weeks been linked to the signing of Juventus and Chile international midfielder Arturo Vidal. Also linked to the signing of the player were Arsenal. The gunners were thought to have agreed a deal with the box to box midfielder who is also at home in the more defensive midfield role.
Chelsea’s interest was initially as a result of Juventus’ supposed intereste in Oscar. It was thought then that the player will be used in a swap deal that will ensure Chelsea gets Vidal while Juve gets Oscar.
However, reports claim Vidal is as a matter of fact on his way to Bayern Munich and an announcement could be made as early as tomorrow (Monday ). In a short but emotion laden post on his personal Instagram account, Juventus and Chilean international star, Arturo Vidal bade fare well to βhis Italian club supporters. Thanking them for the love and support shown to him during his spell at the club during his time in the Serie A. Vidal joined the Italian champions from Bayern Leverkusen in 2011 a deal worth β¬10.5m
Smarting from the copa America title won on home soil recently and a runners up medal at the champions league (won by Messi inspired Barcelona), his stock has been steadily rising in Europe with stellar performances in the middle of the park as a quintessential box to box player, patrolling the midfield like a bull terrier tirelessly snapping at the feet of players looking to quickly win the ball back, also having a keen eye for goal and penetrative passes. Vidal scored seven goals and won more tackles than any other Juventus player last season (74). He also made 84% pass accuracy during the last term.
With the departure of Bayern Munich midfield star Bastian Schwienstieger to Manchester United, Vidal is going to ply his trade at the Allianz Arena next term replacing the German midfielder. Chelsea’s loss will definitely be Bayern Munich’s gain.
