Done Deal – Chelsea To ANNOUNCE Midfielder Signing, Player Flies In For Medical

Chelsea are reportedly set to add another Brazilian to their ranks with the capture of Fluminense prodigy, Robert Kenedy after the attacker completed his medical in London.

The Premier League Champions have a contingency of Brazilians (Willian, Oscar, Ramires, Filipe Luis) at Stamford Bridge. Hence, Kenedy should be able to adapt quickly.

Kenedy, 19, completed his medical in London last night and will be announced as a Chelsea player officially in the coming days, the Independent understands. The Daily star also reports the “New Neymar” will sign for Chelsea on a five-year deal.

A couple of weeks ago, the player’s club Fluminense announced the sale of their star but failed to name the club that bought him. Brazilian newspaper, Globo Esporte, however named Chelsea as the club.

“An agreement has been reached with his club, Fluminense who sold his economic rights to an investment group, who are then selling the U-20 star on to Chelsea”, the Telegraph had confirmed.

Robert Kenedy – who was also a target for Man United – will most definitely be sent out on loan to gain more experience and play time. For now at least, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may see the youngster as ‘not yet ready’ to compete with the likes of Hazard, Willian and Cuadrado in his position.

He will be the second Brazilian to arrive Stamford Bridge this summer after Nathan, who was signed from Atletico Paranaense in May.

The 19-year old Kenedy, whose full name is Robert Kenedy Nunes do Nascimento, made forty appearances for Fluminense over three seasons and has played for both Brazil’s U-17 and U-20 teams (SBNation).

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to begin the expansion and renovation of their stadium and have, according to reports, offered £11 million to use the England national stadium, Wembley as home ground while Stamford Bridge is being “redeveloped”.
