Done Deal – Liverpool Completes Transfer Of 5ft 10′ Defender

Swindon have signed Liverpool defender, Kevin Stewart on a season-long loan, as per Sky Sports.

The 21-year old will spend the entire duration of the 2015/16 season with the Robins after both clubs agreed a loan transfer.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Stewart is one of a number of Micheal Beale’s Liverpool’s U-21s who have been loaned out over the past 12 months, along with the likes of Sheyi Ojo, Jerome Sinclair and lloyd James.

A statement from the club says:”Stewart will spend the duration of 2015-16 with Swindon Town after a season-long loan switch was sealed for the Academy player today”.

The Liverpool academy player has moved on after having signed a new contract extension with the Merseysiders. He arrived 12 months ago from Tottenham and has since impressed in the defence and midfield for the Reds’ U-21 side.

Sky Sports say Stewart “has had a previous loan spell at Cheltenham and finished last season at Burton, scoring a late winner in their last-day victory at Cambridge”.

Stewart made his Football League debut during a loan spell at Crewe in 2013 while has on Tottenham books (BBC).

The 21-year will join Liverpool team mate, Jordan Williams who also joined Swindon in a similar loan deal on Friday.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have only confirmed the signings of five first team players so far, with James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Roberto Firmino, Nathan Clyne.

Defender Glen Johnson is also on his way to Stoke City, according to reports. The defender is out of contract at Anfield and will be replaced by new signing, Nathan Clyne.
