Doubts Over Terry’s Future As Chelsea Close In On £40m CB Signing – Not Stones

These are definitely trying times for the skipper of Chelsea, John Terry. The Special one further casted doubt over his skipper’s future when he made enquiries on the availability of Real Madrid’s centre back Raphael Varane. This is according to the Daily Mail.

The 34-year-old player, John Terry, has had a worrying start to this campaign after he was substituted at half time in the  3-0 lose to arch rival Manchester City –to further worsen his situation, he saw his sixth red card when they triumphed over West Brom at the Hawthorns last Sunday.

The Portuguese tactician was publicly vociferous over his squad performance and fingered Terry when they lost to Manchester City. It is now understood that the Blues coach is keen on luring Varane from Madrid, a player that he bought from Lens in 2011 and was under his tutelage while bossing the Los Blancos. As per Daily Mail.

Mourinho’s style was built on a defensive ideology with the pivot at the central defensive position where the team concedes the least goals among their rivals. This ideology, as successful executed, saw Chelsea conquered England last season having conceded 32 goals spanning the League games.

Nonetheless, it looks highly unlikely that Chelsea will replicate/retain similar defensive record with seven goals already conceded in three games.

The Blues have made several offers to Everton for the services of their tough-tackling defender Stones but the Toffees have remained unyielding despites Chelsea’s mouth watering offers-his has resulted in the enquiry for Varane. As per the Daily Mail.
