Ex- Real Madrid President Confirms Cristiano Ronaldo Could Leave Madrid – Off To Manchester United?

Ex-Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has admitted reigning World Footballer of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo, could leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

This is the claim of the Daily Star who submit that Ronaldo, 30, has been linked with a return to his old employers Manchester United and French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.

The Red Devils are keen to lure Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, and are willing to cough up an astronomical fee of £92.5m and then place the Portugal international on a hefty £14.7m-a-year package.

PSG, on the other hand, are also interesting in landing the former Sporting Lisbon ace, and the Paris-based outfit are readying their own mammoth offer too.

Ertswhile Real supremo Ramon Calderon stated he has heard about the keen interest from the Ligue 1 champions but hopes Ronaldo will remain in the Spanish Capital.

“I heard the rumours about the strong interest from PSG,” Calderon told French outfit Le Parisien [via the Star].

“As a former president and supporter of Real Madrid, I hope it will never happen.”

Meanwhile, Spanish football enthusiast Guillem Balague says it is possible that Ronaldo will leave Real at the end of the season and a move to PSG is highly likely.

“He can physically play until he is 40, but there is a strategy in place from his people,” Balague said.

“It looks like this could be the last season of Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid. It also looks as though Real Madrid aren’t completely unhappy that this is the case.

“This sounds amazing, when you look at the records he’s gained – probably the best goalscorer in their history.

“But perhaps Real Madrid believe he has peaked and I’ve got an impression these people are feeling PSG is the best solution.

“Be it this summer or next summer, I don’t think he will be at Real Madrid that long.”
