Exclusive: Paul Pogba’s agent speaks on Chelsea transfer

Paul Pogba may be the most exciting player in Europe at the moment. The young superstar has brought light to the Juventus midfield, even after Andrea Pirlo retired. Many thought that Pirlo’s retirement would bring the Juventus supremacy to an end, but Pogba has done a great job keeping La Vecchia Signora at the top of the Italian Serie A.

Pogba has been on many big team’s radar since last summer, one of the biggest contenders being Chelsea. Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, spoke to GQ Magazine Italy and told the story of how he met Paul Pogba: “I didn’t convince him, he convinced me! A friend told me: ‘Mino, follow that boy.’ I paid for his boarding costs. I saw him play and fell in love. Then I also found out that we shared the same values.”

Raiola was bombarded with question about his most valuable clients, including his move to Chelsea this summer. He had to say: “Not now, I don’t think so, but never rule out anything… My job is not to bring everybody to Chelsea. I’m not a taxi driver. I handle people, of which I am proud. My job is to help people find themselves, to make them believe in the incredible.”

Antonio Conte was unveiled as Chelsea’s new manager earlier this week, and although he will not be free of his duty as Italy’s manager until July, he has already expressed interest in several players including Pogba. There are rumors of a double swap that would send Oscar and Willian, two of Chelsea’s key offensive players, to Juventus for the high-flying Pogba, but nothing has been set in stone yet.
