EXCLUSIVE PHOTO – Contract Signed, Wenger Confirms New Signing Will Be Officialy Presented in 10 Days

In some more good news for the Gooners, as Wenger revealed that he expects to complete his first signing of January transfer window in the next ten days. The first signing is expected to be of Mohamed Elneny as various reports have suggested that the transfer of the Egyptian from Basel is almost complete.

When asked about updates on the impending transfer of Mohamed Elneny: “I don’t give much away [about transfers] because I don’t know [what’s going on]. I want to talk about them, and hopefully, we are capable of doing something in the next ten days.

“It’s more about quality than quantity because our players will not stay out injured forever. Francis Coquelin is starting to run, Santi Cazorla will be back in mid-February, and Mikel Arteta is back now so, hopefully, if we can add one and, if needed, two maximum.”

“It’s not a dream. Nobody knocks at your door at Christmas and says ‘I have a fantastic player to sell to Arsenal.’ You have to be realistic.”

However, FC Basel officialy revealed on Twitter that Mohamed Elneny’s replacement, Swedish midfielder Alexander Fransson, signed a new contract with the team. Elneny’s signature is almost sealed.

Arsenal have missed the steel and grit of Coquelin in their midfield, and the return of Frenchman will provide a major boost to the title challenge of the Gunners.
