Falcao, Pato and Loic Remy leaving in summer to free up wage bill for Antoine Griezmann

Chelsea plan a summer clear-out and a new recruitment campaign to turn the fortunes around and get the team competitive again. Much has been made of the clubs fall from grace this year and many think that incoming manager, Antonio Conte will organize a mass exodus.

One of the faces coming the other way, however, might be French international Antoine Griezmann. Griezmann has been on the Chelsea wish-list since his scintillating performances at the last world cup.

This season alone he has netted 29 times for Atletico but a mega money deal might tempt all parties. One stalling point might be the fact that barring a miracle, Chelsea will have no competitive football in Europe next season.

Chelsea are refusing to give up the chase and will clear 3 big bills from the wage sheet in order to afford it. Loic Remy’s lackluster performances this season and lackadaisical attitude means he will probably be sold at a reduced price.

Falcao’s disastrous spell in England will come to an end after failed loans at Chelsea and Manchester United, and Pato, who only joined recently, will also have his loan ended. He has looked lively, in the only game he played, but the fact it took him 2 months to get fit enough to play a game seems to have irked the top brass.

Former French star Jean-Pierre Papin has urged Griezmann to stay at Atletico: “To leave when Atletico play in the Champions League every year, fight in La Liga with Barcelona and Real Madrid and he plays every game wouldn’t make sense. Loyalty is important to Griezmann, and if you’re already playing for a great club, why leave?”
