Man Utd are close to complete the signing of Benfica’s teenage sensation Renato Sanches. Daily Mail reports that United are currently in the negotiation with the Portuguese club and hope to conclude the deal in the coming days.
The 18-year old prodigy has broken into the team at Estadio da Luz this season, and he has a £60million release clause.
However, United are confident that they can reach an agreement with Benfica over half the release clause. The reports also claim that United scouts have watched the player in the three of last four games, and the club has already contacted Benfica officials.
United are expected to send back the player to Benfica on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Sanches plays as an attacking midfielder and is considered to be one of the brightest talents in his age group.
At 18 years of age, he has already established himself in the Benfica’s first team and has attracted the attention of a number of major European clubs. United don’t want a bidding war to get started for the player and wants to wrap up the deal as soon as possible.
