FINALLY A CB? Ed Woodward Flies To Spain For WORLD CLASS £36.5m CB – Not Otamendi, Not Ramos

According to a report by the daily mail, Manchester United deal maker/CEO who is reportedly in Spain to try to conclude a deal for Manchester United to sign Barca’s Pedro will kill two birds with one stone by Athletico Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte.

Laporte has been linked to a move away from the Blague club for sometime now with Manchester United the club linked most to his signature. According to the mail, Manchester United are back in the hunt for the young French international after losing out on the opportunity to sign Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos who only yesterday put pen to paper on a new contract with the Los Blancos.

Laporte who graduated from Bilbao’s high rated academy has gone on to become one of the club’s best players and one of the best youngsters in European football. His stellar performance for Bilbao has seen him linked with a move to Chelsea, Arsenal, Barca, Bayern Munich among others.

With Nicolas Otamendi set to join Manchester City, Ed Woodward will know United’s chances of getting a centre back in this transfer window is fast getting eroded.

Laporte reportedly has a £36.5 million release clause which Manchester United will have to trigger if they want to sign him.
