Breel Embolo Moving to England

First January Signing? Club Close To Signing High Rated National Team Star – Tottenham To Lose Out

North Londoners, Arsenal and Tottenham will once again do battle, but off the pitch this time as the duo are interested in the services of highly rated and young Switzerland international, Breel Embolo. The FC Basel forward has been the revelation of the Swiss League this season at just 18 after bursting onto the scene last term. He caught the eyes of European scouts in the Champions League last season due to his ability and maturity at such age. The White Hart lane outfit were the first to place him under their radar in the EPL, but they now face competition from eternal rivals, Arsenal, who are ready to beat them to his signature.

Tottenham coach, Mauricio Pochettino, had sent scouts as early as August to watch the Cameroon-born teenager play in the Swiss Super League, and they were hopeful of sealing a winter move of around 10 million Pounds for the striker. Embolo got 10 league goals last season and he is already on course to helping his side emerge champions in the ongoing season.

The 3-time capped Switzerland international was a subject of serious nationality battle between his country of birth and adopted country as they both wanted him to represent them at the national level due to his quality and promising abilities. His worth has since doubled and the Gunners are willing to meet his new buyout clause reported to be around 21 million Pounds.

Wenger is keen to add new striking additions to his squad in order to increase their title chances, and his love for emerging talents will see him push for a move for the striking sensation. Despite the two big clubs’ interests, the trio of Aston Villa, West Brom and West Ham are also said to have him under their radar, and it promises to be a tough transfer window competition for his signature.
