Footy Addicts – the way to play unlimited football

Do you fancy the idea of playing five aside football with your mates every week?

Yeah, me too. But we all have the same problem.

Trying to organise it.

If you put plans into the group chat, it can feel like drawing blood from a stone trying to get participants and when you finally do, the other team might drop out or cancel.

It’s a nightmare.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Footy Addicts has changed the game for many football fans.

Who are ‘Footy Addicts’?

They are a community of people who just want to play the beautiful game.

They set up an app which helps people find pitches to play football. It’s not just limited to five aside and has games up to eleven aside.

The idea is that it leads to far more games being played and a lot less cancellations.

Their ethos is built on three principles.

  • Accessibility – making sure people can always play football if they want to.
  • Social integration – helping people make new friends and meet others.
  • Wellbeing – Using football as a way to improve someone’s mental health.

They have over 292,000 registered players in over 140 local communities.

Where is ‘Footy Addicts’ based?

They have 2500 games played each month in London, Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leicester and many others.

They claim that 95% of the games go ahead.

Is there a cost?

Yes, like any pitch it does have a cost to hire it out, but it’s only around £5-£10 per person.

But if you want to play for free, being a game hosts offers this option. As a host you have to book out the venue yourself. Anyone can be a game host. Then a small percentage will go to Footy Addicts for using the app.

If you charge for the game you can collect your money online through the app or in person with cash.

What if my game is cancelled?

Each game has its own refund policy, which isn’t decided by Footy Addicts themselves.

So, it depends on this.

What if you have no friends to play with?

Then it’s the perfect place for you. Footy Addicts encourages anyone to play regardless of if they bring anyone. In this process you can meet future friends to play with.

Is it easy to get into games?

Footy Addicts claim to have over 58,000 open slots, so it shouldn’t be too difficult.

Is it diverse?

Yes.

They’ve had over 224 different countries represented.

Do they work with anyone reputable?

Yes.

The London FA.

Neil Twitchett, the head of delivery at the London FA said: “London FA is delighted to be working with Footy Addicts to grow and develop the football offer across London. Footy Addicts are in a fantastic position to deliver a safe, high quality experience.”

What do they to improve the world?

Footy Addicts have collaborated with Tackle to raise money towards HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. As well as Three UK and Bloomsbury Football to facilitate more opportunities in football for women.

They’re openly looking for other collaborations as well.

What do the reviews say?

It has a 4.2 star rating on Trust pilot with 57 reviews. It has 86% five-star reviews.

This was just one of the reviews. It said: “Really great app, having been using this in London for a long time and in Birmingham for the past 3 years. I’ve recently moved to Leicester, which now thankfully has FootyAddicts!

If you struggle to get together 10 friends to organise a game, but want to play regularly or if you want to supplement your Sunday league games with football in the week or weekend then this is for you.”

So if you fancy a game of footy, download ‘FootyAddicts and you’ll find one in no time.
