Forget Benzema, Arsenal Set To Sign 74 Goals In 104 Games WORLD CLASS Striker
Arsenal are set to drop their interest in luring Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to the Emirates, and Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani has emerged as the Gunners next target for the attack this summer, according to reports.
This is as per Spanish media outlet Fichajes who said Arsenal – who are looking for a top quality forward this summer – have added Cavani to their striker wish-list despite being linked with Benzema throughout the summer.
The source goes on to say although the Real hitman is Arsenal’s main striker target, but the back-to-back FA Cup champions are considering a swoop for Cavani should the move for Benzema fail to materialise – although other sources claim either Robert Lewandowski or Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the PSG striker and he is now reportedly ready to sign his long-term target.
It is understood PSG would be interesting in negotiating offers for the former Napoli prolific hitman, whose relationship with boss Laurent Blanc is a bit strained.
Cavani, 28, a Manchester United target, wants to be the Ligue 1 champions’ main striker as he feels he is being wasted on the wings by Blanc. Thus, he fancies a side who will guarantee him what he craves and Arsenal can do that. The belief is Wenger wants to sign a striker who is better than Olivier Giroud. So any striker that comes in would definitely start ahead of the former Montpellier goal machine.
The prolific Uruguay international striker scored 78 goals in 104 appearances for Napoli before moving to PSG. Should Cavani move to the Emirates, he could be an instant success and for the Gunners, they will be getting a top class centre forward.
