Former Footballer Confirms Arsenal Will Sign 133 Goals In 281 Games Striker

Don’t give up, Arsenal fans. Not yet, as your club could be getting their key target after all.

Transfer ITK Rodney Marsh has ignited the fire again regarding Benzema’s protracted move to the Emirates, after claiming Real Madrid have accepted Arsenal’s latest bid for the France international striker.

A long-term Arsenal target, Benzema’s transfer to the Emirates has been a running theme throughout the summer and reports even claimed Los Blancos have rebuffed Arsenal’s bid to sign their forward.

A couple of days ago, Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez, per Daily Star, hinted the France international striker will not leave Madrid, even after reports had emerged from Europe that Benzema was on his way to the Emirates.

But the former Liverpool, Chelsea and Inter manager thinks otherwise.

“Benzema is a great player,” Benitez told El Pais.

“One of my ideas this year is that he can reach 20 to 25 goals mark. I am very confident.”

Benzema, who scored 22 goals in all competitions under Carlo Ancelotti last term, was rumoured earlier on in the season to not be part of Benitez’ plans at the Bernabeu, with reports saying the Spanish manager wants to utilise Cristiano Ronaldo as Los Blancos’ main striker, flanked by Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez.

Metro even reported that the Gunners have turned their attention away from Benzema and are now eyeing Paris Saint-Germain want-away striker Edinson Cavani

Marsh’s claim is now different entirely to that of Daily Star and Metro, as he affirms Real have indeed accepted Arsenal’s bid for Benzema, killing off rumours of Cavani’s arrival.

It now remains to be seen the extent of the truth in  the 70-year old former England international comments, but the crave among Arsenal fans for their club to sign Benzema is huge.

The 27-year old joined Real in 2009 and has contributed an immense 133 goals for the team in 281 appearances in the last six years. Benzema’s potency and prolificacy for goal is what Arsenal need to make a genuine title push this season.

The Gunners’ supporters would get absolutely buzzing with this. But then, it appears similar to that of Italian Journalist Emanuele Gialunelli who had claimed Benzema has agreed a four-year contract worth €9/year deal to join Arsenal. Nevertheless, there could be some elements of truth in it.
