Four Reasons Why Manchester United Will Be Tottenham

Manchester United kick-off their Premier League campaign this season against Tottenham Hotspurs on Saturday. The Red Devils are expected to win their match against Tottenham to show their intent for the season. The Red Devils who finished 4th last season will be hoping to improve on their position last season and aim for a top two finish this season. As we countdown to Manchester United’s match against Tottenham soon, here are four reasons why Manchester United are expected to defeat Tottenham on Saturday.

Quality of Tottenham team – Tottenham last three pre-season matches against Sydney FC , MLS All Stars and Real Madrid showed that the London team still lacked enough quality when it mattered as opposed to United who have so much quality in the team at the moment. Spurs have been unconvincing in their last 3 matches and it begs the question on if Tottenham can perform well in this forthcoming season. Tottenham average showing against these teams shows they still have a lot to work on for the season and Manchester United should definitely be able to capitalise on their average form.

Manchester United’s attack – Tottenham struggled a lot defensively last season which prompted the signing of Toby Alderwield from Atletico Madrid. However Tottenham defence are bound to have problems due to the fire-power in United’s attack. United’s attack have been bolstered by new signing Memphis Depay who is a very versatile and quick player bound to give Tottenham’s defence constant headache. Also the likes of Rooney , Mata and Ashley Young can also be a constant problem for the Tottenham defence and it remains to be seen how Tottenham will try and contain them.

Complete team – With only Rojo expected not to feature against Tottenham, Louis Van Gaal will have the opportunity to field his strongest side on Saturday. Manchester United’s top players are available and ready at Louis Van Gaal’s disposal.

Van Gaal Under Pressure – Louis Van Gaal managed to get Manchester United into the top 4 last season after an opening day defeat to Swansea and a shaky start to the season. After spending about 100 million euros bringing in 5 players into the club, the Dutch Manager understands how important it is for Manchester United to get an opening day win. The minimal expectations for Louis Van Gaal is a top two finish and a trophy. Anything less than a win against Tottenham on the opening day could be a massive blow to the team’s morale as they challenge for the title hence Manchester have to beat Tottenham on Saturday.

Saturday’s encounter between Tottenham and United will be a highly competitive match but I expect United to come out victorious.
