Reports according to media outfit, the Metro state that Manchester United are currently considering cashing-in on €38 million rated Belgium and Aston Villa Talisman, Christian Benteke.
Reports confirmed that United coach Louis van Gaal recently turned to Benteke- as a back-up option- after initial moves for first-choice options, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller, as well as PSG forward, Edinson Cavani, failed to materialize.
Chris ‘Bente-goal’, as he is fondly called in some quarters, has definitely carved a niche for himself. He was highly-instrumental to the near success of Aston Villa last term. Agile, pacy and powerful both on the ground and in aerial conditions, the player hit a rich vein of form towards the end of last term, scoring 11 goals in Villa’s last 11 premier league games. He has become one of the Premier League’s most feared strikers in recent times, and would certainly be a good addition to coach Van Gaal’s squad.
While Liverpool and current EPL champions Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the player, it appears that United would eventually win the race and seal a deal in the coming days.
