162 Goals In 311 Games Striker To Make January Move To Arsenal
Arsenal are still interested in Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, and as per the Metro, the Gunners’ officials are in talks with the Uruguyuan regarding a possible transfer in January.
Cavani has long been targeted by Arsenal and the north London club made another attempt lo lure him to the Emirates in the summer after they failed in an their bid to sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. But PSG decided to hold onto Cavani and the player remained at the Parc des Princes.
According to Spanish media outlet Fichajes, Cavani’s relationship with boss Laurent Blanc is still frosty and the Uruguay international could consider making a switch to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.
The Gunners are not giving up hopes of signing the former Napoli hitman – who has bagged 6 goals for his Paris side in nine league matches so far this term – and a move for Cavani in January could be on the cards.
It is claimed Cavani is unhappy that he is not PSG’s main striker and has told Blanc he wants the role. However, the French boss reportedly told the 29-year old that as long as Zlatan Ibrahimovic is at the Paris outfit, Cavani would not be first-choice centre forward.
With Arsenal looking to bring in a top notch striker who will certainly be better than Olivier Giroud, it is clear the Gunners want that player to start and not sit on the bench. Cavani will, no doubt, jump at the chance to join Arsenal as the Uruguayan knows the chance to play as a striker which he has been craving will now be handed to him on a platter.
