Frustrated Wenger KEEN ON Beating Manchester United To Signing Of €40m Star

The Gunners are reportedly interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Hakan Çalhanoğlu according to Talksport. Çalhanoğlu has been widely touted as the new Ozil and is presently rated as the sixth most valuable under-21 player in the world according to Soccerex.

Çalhanoğlu was the clog in Barcelona’s wheel of tricks in their most recent game and ensured he got his name on the sheet as he provided an assist which Barcelona’s defenders could not have stopped. Bayer went on to lose the game 2-1 but Çalhanoğlu already has 6 assists and 6 goals in 14 European appearances.

The Turkish International who looks a bit like Ozil and with same haircut style at the moment is also known in the Bundesliga as a set-piece Maestro. He has scored 22 free-kicks in the Bundesliga and takes almost every corner kick for his side. It is starting to look like every time he places himself in front of the ball for a free-kick, he sends jitters down the opponents’ spines.

Former Manchester United midfielder and now BT Sport football commentator, Owen Hargreaves recently lauded Hakan’s ability when he said’ “I love Çalhanoğlu. I think he’s gonna be a superstar. Honestly, he’s one of the best strikers of the ball you’ll see.”

This may have prompted Manchester United as they are reported to have place a €40 million bid for Çalhanoğlu already. It remains to be seen how much Arsenal will bid or if Wenger might even bid at all or just end up increasing the player’s value with some dramatic spins.

However, all is left with Bayer Leverkusen and if they want to part ways with their engine room yet.
