Arsenal fans who have been wanting their club to sign a world class striker or at least a striker who has the potential to become world class to challenge Olivier Giroud may have their wish met if reports by Corriere della Sera an Italian media out let is anything to go by.
Arsenal has in the last few weeks been linked to various strikers in and outside Europe – Alexandre Lacazette, Jackson Martinez, Mario Manduzkic, Benzema, Higuain and a host of others but if you believe Corriere della Sera, Arsenal may snap up Lacazette from Lyon on the cheap.
The young French striker who has been tagged the new Thierry Henry by a section of the French media has reportedly caught Wenger’s eyes and the Frenchman reportedly wants him at Arsenal before the end of the transfer window.
It was initially reported that Wenger has dropped interest in the player after Lyon told him he can only be gotten if an offer of £35 million is made for the player. However, Corriere della Sera are claiming they have been exclusively told Arsenal or any other club can sign the player for as little as £21 million.
If this report is true, you can expect Wenger to definitely be interested in signing the player. He ticks all Wenger boxes – he is French, young, pacy and above all, available for cheap.
