The back to back community shield holders have been on the search for a top-notch striker.
Their chances of landing the France international born striker Karim Benzema was boosted after it was reported that the Spanish giants have considered an improved second bid of £40.9m from Arsenal. This follows from the rejection of an initial £30.5m bid.
According to the metro, an agreement between the clubs has been reached for the change in destination of the proven centre forward.
The beasty attacker who had previously rejected Arsenal’s advances has been targeted by Wenger since his days at Lyon and has been heavily linked to the Emirates outfit for the most part of this summer. Wenger is said to be in search of a world class goal poacher and Benzema will perfectly fit the bills for him.
Rumours also indicate that on completion of the deal, Benzema will be made the highest paid player above Ozil and the energetic Sanchez who currently earns £140,000 and £150,000 respectively. The deal will fetch him a whopping £160,000 which is a marginal increase over his £150,000 Madrid wage. Putting into cognizance that Walcott was given a pay rise to earn £140,000 and the likes and Coasta and Benteke smiles to the bank for £180,000 and £120,000 respectively, the deal for Benzema if completed will be massive given that he is a proven attacker.
