GREAT NEWS – Arsenal To Make OFFICIAL €25m Bid For Chelsea Target – Will Announce Mourinho

The Telegraph are carrying a report that claims that Arsenal are back in for Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli with his proposed move to AC Milan in doubt. TalkSport reported that Romagnoli was nearing a switch to AC Milan, but negotiations have now come to a standstill-which could allow the Gunners to make their move. Romagnoli was strongly linked with a move to North London last month according to the Metro.

The Roma centre back is rated as one of the best young defenders in the world, and Chelsea and AC Milan have also been linked with a deal to sign him.

After reported earlier this week said the Gunners had received a boost in the race to sign him, Daily Express says the Gunners are in pole position to sign the defender.

It appears the 20-year-old was heading to AC Milan but the Telegraph are saying that the proposed deal is in doubt as the two clubs are finding it hard to agree a fee. The paper says that Milan are only willing to pay €20 million while Roma want at least €25 million for the player, and this has paved way for Arsenal to renew their interest in the player.

The player spent last season on loan at Sampdoria where he made 31appearances in all competitions.

Arsene Wenger is said to have been monitoring the situation and is keen to sign the Italy U21 International . Arsenal  have made only one major signing this summer, with Petr Cech signing from Chelsea but they are still open to add to their squad.
