Atletico Madrid’s approach on the availability of Diego Costa has reportedly been turned down by Chelsea who are believed to have snubbed the bold move by Atletico Madrid.
According to the Mirror, Atletico manager Diego Simeone made a “cheeky move” for Costa, but he was knocked back by Blues who are still interested in the Atletico’s Jackson Martinez.
Costa’s future has been questioned in recent days after his poor form in front the goal. It is also believed that his poor return in 2015 has been the cause some of the many negatives in the Blues’ poor 2015/2016 season.
On the other hand, Martinez has been struggling to bring back his goal scoring form at the Vicente Calderon.
Diego Simeone believes that Costa will be a marvelous asset for his goal-shy team, while Chelsea believe that bringing Martinez to Stamford Bridge on a loan deal with be a great reinforcement for their squad.
