Great News: Klopp to Finally Bring a Powerful Striker to Anfield
Liverpool seemed to be interested in a move for Stoke City forward Marko Arnautovic, according to Kick Off.
The 26-year old has been in fine form for the Potters this season and the lasts reports have claimed that he could be on his way in the summer.
The Telegraph reports that the Austrian international has a release clause in his agreement which could be triggered in the summer.
According to the report, the clause, which stands at £12.5 million will become activated once the player enters into the final year of his contract.
The Potters are reportedly engaged in contract negotiations with the player, but both parties are yet to reach an agreement.
Arnautovic, who arrived in a £2 million deal from Werder Bremen in September 2013, has scored seven goals and provided four assists in Premier League this season.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes said about contract negotiations: “As with all negotiations, usually agents go in high and we go in low and somewhere in the future we get to the middle ground and something gets done.”
“Sometimes they take longer than others, but as always we are very hopeful that Marko will be a big part of what we are doing moving forward and I think that’s what he would like.”
