Jese Rodriguez Could Join Chelsea In January

Chelsea’s dismal performances so far this term has prompted the club to start highlighting possible January transfer targets and, one of the players the Blues have been linked with is Real Madrid’s Jese Rodriguez.

The Blues’ below-par performances was reignited on Saturday, as they fell to another defeat – their fifth in the Premier League this term – to West Ham United at Upton Park. The current league champions showed no intensity against Slaven Bilic’s side, and they now sit 15th in the Premier League table after 10 games.

However, Spanish sources have now chipped in with reports that Chelsea are favourites to land the highly-rated Jese, despite interests from Arsenal.

There are claims Serie A sides Napoli and Inter Milan are also chasing the 22-year old winger, while Aston Villa is another Premier League outfit rumoured to be keen on the Real Madrid winger.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is looking to amplify his options in the attack in the New Year so as to remain within touching distance of their league crown. The self-proclaimed Special One saw his woes compounded as he was sent to the stands for an unverified reason during the Blues’ 2-1 defeat to the Hammers.

Meanwhile, Jese has now been pinpointed as the ideal candidate and the winger is reportedly unhappy with lack of enough game time at Real. The Spaniard would be willing to jump at the chance to join a top club who can offer him much game time, as per reports.

Arsenal were understood to be leading the race for the Los blancos forward, but it appears Chelsea are looking to hijack the deal, as per the Metro

Reports claim Jese is highly unlikely to join the other suitors, with the race to sign the pacey attacker between Chelsea and Arsenal.
