GREAT NEWS – Manchester United Enter Talks To Sign 63 Goals Striker

The transfer window will soon reach a hiatus until January 2016, and clubs are in a last minute rush to bring in some quality additions. Nevertheless, there will be rumours. A whole lot! Where some may be very true and precise, the others could just be fabricated. Here is Manchester United, a club where since making their last summer signing – Sergio Romero, a free agent – all the players linked to them have either been hijacked by other sides or stayed put at their own clubs.

The Red Devils started the summer strongly linked with Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, and after all the rumbles and wrangles, the Los Blancos captain snubbed United for a fresh five-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu. Also, Pedro Rodriguez and Nicolas Otamendi joined Chelsea and Manchester City instead, and some others left unmentioned.

Meanwhile, United are in search of a centre forward before the transfer window closes. Louis van Gaal wants Thomas Muller. He admires Gareth Bale, but it is highly unlikely Bayern and Real Madrid would let these players leave this summer. However, Louis van Gaal’s side got offered Alexandre Pato by Sao Paulo few days ago and reports claimed it is unlikely United go all out to sign the Brazilian.

But Jason Burt’s opinion is different. The Telegraph’s Chief Football Correspondent believes Manchester United could make a move for Pato before the end of the transfer window. The journalist thinks the forgotten Brazilian could be the solution to Louis van Gaal’s chronic lack of firepower.

The Red Devils need to buy a top striker with the right presence, although van Gaal says it is not necessary and reels off the names he has in his ranks – Wayne Rooney, Memphis Depay, Javier Hernandez and also, Marouane Fellaini. But that does not bode well for a club of United’s stature.

Burt says bringing in Pato would be a masterstroke for van Gaal in the closing days of the transfer window. Talks have reportedly started and there is a strong belief the 25-year old would end up in the Premier League before September 2.

The Dutchman had claimed: “When he is the best striker in the world then, yes, we need him.” Come to think of it, ‘can a deal for Muller, Bale or even Neymar be done before next week?’

United’s frontman Rooney has yet to find the back of the net in 10 games, which is worrying, hence the Red Devils’ skipper need support and this is why, as Burt says, Pato’s signing will make sense.

Pato burst onto the scene as a 16-year old with Internacional before moving to AC Milan. Even though he has had injury problems, it appears he is now clear of those.

The 25-year old is also a potent goalscorer. He scored 63 in 150 games for Milan and has racked up 30 goals in 74 appearances in his homeland with Sao Paulo. Pato is quick and agile, can play anywhere across the forward line and he will benefit the team, van Gaal and Wayne Rooney.

Sunderland and Stoke City are also interested in the £10.9 Pato but he will not end up at any of those sides. The Brazilian is also willing to reinvigorate his career and return to Europe, and a move to Old Trafford will motivate him.
