Judging by various reports in both the French, the English and the Spanish media, Emirate landlords, Arsenal, may be on the verge of signing Real Madrid’s Beasty striker Karim Benzema. The gunners were reported to have made several bids for the Frenchman in the past which has always been turned back by Madrid, but if you believe recent reports, Arsenal may finally get their man as the La Decima kings seem to have made up the minds on accepting an offer of €50 million for the 27 year old former Olympique Lyonnais striker.
The French Striker who started his football career at his home town club Bron Terraillon SC at the tender age of eight(8) never stopped advancing his career until he was whisked away by one of the Spanish giants for over €35 million ($50million) in July, 2009.
The real Madrid no.9 who is described as “strong and powerful” will give his Arsenal French counterpart Oliver Giroud a fierce competition for place in the attacking line of Arsenal. The real Madrid forward who scored a total of 22 goals in the previous season is a league goal better than the handsome Arsenal forward who was banjaxed with injury for few months last season. There are thoughts that the coming of Benzema to Arsenal would be a wake-up call to Oliver who is yet to impress on a consistent basis.
So many pundits including the much revered Arsenal Legend TH14 (Thierry Henry) has called on Arsene Wenger to, as a matter of need, sign a potent striker and Karim Benzema fits perfectly to that need. Arsenal last won the EPL in the 2003/2004 season when they had a world class striker in TH14. It is believed that if the London Giant bring in a lethal attacker among the current crop of players in their squad, they can comfortably conquer the illusive and sought after EPL for the 14th time.
