Guardiola Set For Shocking Arsenal Switch As Wenger Announces Retirement

Bayern Munich are already putting plans in place with claims that their manager Pep Guardiola is heading to Manchester City next summer.

The Bavarian giants have earmarked erstwhile Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti – who has been without a job since leaving the helm at the Spanish Capital – as the man to replace Guardiola who continues to stall over talks regarding a new contract.

Guardiola’s current deal at the Allianz Arena runs out at the end of this season and the Spaniard’s reluctance to extend it has prompted the belief that he will be on his way to City after three years in the Bundesliga.

As per the Mirror, Bayern have now given Guardiola the New Year deadline.

The BuLi champions also know that Guardiola has a close relationship with City executives Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain from their time together at Barcelona.

Now that has promoted Bayern to approach former AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti about taking over the manager’s position, as per the report.

Ancelotti was touted to take over as Liverpool boss after the sacking of Brendan Rodgers, but Reds opted for Jurgen Klopp instead.

However, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are also targeting Ancelotti, but Bayern can trump them if they move quick enough to lure the Italian to the Allianz Arena.

Meanwhile, Guardiola’s exit could also mean Arsenal can swoop for the Spaniard, with Arsene Wenger giving a hint about his future at the club during the week.

Should the former Barcelona boss move to Arsenal, the Gunners would no doubt be getting a top notch manager who is proven and is already a decorated winner.
