Arsenal FC - Gunners

Gunners already hold talks with Leicester City superstar, he could win us the league

Leicester City have only just won the Barclays Premier League title and already clubs are looking to poach their best player. N’golo Kante is the name on the papers as Premier league giants look to wrestle it our for his signature. Now it appears Arsenal are ahead of fellow rivals Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for the Frenchman as the Gunners have already opened talks with the French man’s representatives .  Kante has undoubtedly been one of the star performers in Leicester City’s fairy tale  Premier League-winning campaign and it is no wonder interest from top clubs won’t go away.

The Foxes look set to be facing a nightmare transfer window as they clinch on to their star men. However,  what happens if the likes of N’golo Kante want to leave? It will certainly be hard to resist a once in a lifetime opportunity. However , the Foxes will be hoping that Kante is able to meet out his contract which runs out in 2019. The contract consist of a release clause of €25 million- an amount that won’t threaten Arsenal as the Gunners are looking to meet the clause.

However, reports suggest that Leicester City are not willing to let Kante go unless they have an equally energetic and consistent replacement. Well since the Premier league trio are chasing him, one can imagine replacements are few especially ones that won’t break the bank.

However, Claudio Ranieri is a certain that Leicester will do all they can to hold onto their players as they are not looking to sell. The Leicester manager had the following to say.

“Yes, the phone will be ringing, I know that,” the Italian said.

“ I want to keep all my players but if anyone shows any indication that he might want to go I will be trying to keep him. We have won the title and we can do something good in the future. I will tell them, ‘If you go away, you don’t know what might happen.
“Maybe you go to a big team and you won’t be in the starting XI, then you will slow down. Here you are the king. Stay here one year more, then maybe you can go somewhere else. That’s why it’s important to be careful in what you choose to do.”

This will boil down right to the end as both clubs look to have different needs. Will Leicester sell? Or will Kante force a move through?  Can Arsenal splash a bid Leicester can’t refuse?
